Multi-Generational LEED Homes
LOCATION: Pilsen, IL
CLIENT: Private
MARKET: Housing
The Multi-Generational LEED Homes project is located in the dense Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago and encompasses a blend of historical and modern elements. The project aims for LEED certification and includes a total of three units, housed within a historic 1880s Italianate home and a newly constructed 2-story building.
The design is centered around multi-generational living, with a focus on creating distinct, independent living spaces for elderly family members in the new 2-story building while retrofitting the existing structure to accommodate the immediate family. The project will emphasize the integration of energy-efficient features, natural vegetation, and stormwater management to align with the sustainability goals. A key component of the design will be passive solar strategies, ensuring both energy efficiency and environmental sensitivity.
